Exercise Post Op

Walking is often not thought of as a form of exercise but it’s actually one of the best types of exercise you can get. The great thing about walking for people who’ve undergone breast augmentation is that it doesn’t put any undue strain on your breasts or cause your blood pressure to rise rapidly. That being said, you should still introduce walking into your routine slowly.

In the first few days after surgery, you should try to restrict any walking to simply what’s required to get around your house. After a week or so you can then start going for light walks and increase their length as your breasts heal.

After a few weeks, you can do other forms of light exercise that do not put strain on your breasts. For example, a stationary bike is ideal since you’re not having to run or jump. Running, jumping or any other type of exercise that causes your breasts to bounce, is definitely not recommended for at least 6 weeks after surgery. You want to make sure that the incisions heal properly so this type of activity is certainly to be avoided.

Recovery from breast augmentation is surprisingly fast but you need to take care of yourself. Make sure that you wait for full recovery before returning to the gym.
