Travel Kit

If you are travelling to Richmond to have your surgery performed by Dr Lynam, then it’s important that you come prepared and bring the right things with you. You may decide to recover in Richmond for the first week rather than travelling back home immediately; in fact this would be recommended.

  • Sports bra – Although you’ll be provided with a sports bra to wear after your surgery, you might have one of your own that you prefer. Be sure to check with Dr Lynam that your bra is suitable for wearing after surgery however.
  • Your medication – You should also bring any medication that you need to take with you. Dr Lynam will be able to advise you if there’s anything that you shouldn’t take while recovering from your surgery. Generally it’s only blood thinners that should be avoided.
  • Comfortable clothing – You should bring plenty of comfortable clothing with you. When you’re recovering from breast augmentation surgery, your breasts will be quite sore and tender at first. Therefore you want to make sure you’re as comfortable as possible so wearing any tight or restrictive clothing should be avoided.
  • A friend or family member – It’s always recommended that you have somebody with you for the first 24 hours after your surgery. This is because during this time you’ll be more prone to accidents and could injure yourself. It’s also necessary to have someone transport you to and from the hospital. If you’re not able to find someone to travel with you to Richmond, then arrangements can be made for an extra fee so somebody is with you for the first 24 hours.
  • A laptop or tablet – If you’re planning to stay in Richmond to recover from your surgery for the first week or so, then you’ll certainly want to bring a laptop or tablet with you, so you can watch Netflix, check your emails, browse the web etc. The first few days in particular should be devoted to resting and recovering so it’s a good idea to have some form of entertainment with you.
